ALCC was established in May 2018 with the main objective of promoting multiculturalism among the wider community in Adelaide through the game of cricket. Membership of the club is open to all persons interested in cricket and consists of people from all walks of life and various nationalities who share a common passion for the game of cricket. The current playing group has played alongside each other for a number of years, initially forming a team known as the Ceylon Aces who have taken part in various social competitions and cricket carnivals organized by South Australian Cricket Association (SACA), South Australian Metropolitan Cricket Association (SAMCA) and Adelaide Metropolitan & District Communities Cricket Association (AMDCCA). The group has consistently shown a competitive edge over their opponents by going on to win the winter T20 league organised by AMDCCA in all five years they have taken part. The SAMCA Country Living Homes Twenty 20 Champions Cup in 2016 was also a highlight with the team reaching the semi-finals.

With the aim of moving on to longer formats of community cricket, the group became a part of the International Cricketers Club SA, taking up LO1 and LO6 sides in the ATCA limited overs competition and a Division 2 side in the City Holden Smash T20 competition for the season 2017-18. This helped expand the numbers of the group rapidly, inviting others who were interested in playing the game. On field success soon followed being a grand finalist in the Division 2 T20 competition and the LO1's being Semi-Finalists. However, the main highlight for the season was winning the LO6 Premiership against Brighton Cricket Club.

Success also followed into the inaugural season (2018-19) of the ALCC whereby 4 teams were fielded to take up a B1 side in the ATCA two-day competition, LO2, LO3 and LO6 sides in the ATCA limited overs competition and a team in the City Holden Smash T20 competition. Highlights of the 2018/19 season were many with the LO2’s and LO3’s becoming semi-finalists, the T20 team winning the City Holden Smash T20 competition against Old Ignatians Cricket Club, and the B1 two-day side winning the premiership against Ingle Farm District Cricket Club.
